DEIJIDESIGN, the luxury brand that exudes beauty through accessories and apparel, has been a force in the making for over five years. Stemming from the Japanese word for “DAISY,” it is DEIJIDESIGN‘s mission to encompass elements of the Earth’s natural wonders into the modern world that exists today.

 

Yet, like every great brand that has come into existence, there is a story behind DEIJIDESIGN, and it starts with our creators. Mark Schwartz, our Creative Director, is a verified genius who graduated from the esteemed Julliard in the late 1970s. After graduating Schwartz, worked at a shoe boutique on Madison Avenue in New York City. By association, he ended up meeting Roger Vivier, who is referred to as the “father of the stiletto heel” at a gallery opening. When Vivier realized that Schwartz had a natural talent for design aesthetics, he hired him as his assistant.

It was during the ’80s that Schwartz became an icon of sorts in the art and fashion world in what is known today as the “Glitterati Circuit.” In the 90s Schwartz embarked on his own and opened up a shoe boutique in New York City’s SOHO. Women who were looking for footwear that was edgier and unique flocked to Schwartz’s store. It was also during the ’90s that Schwartz began selling paintings of his shoes. With fresh ideas and designs, these paintings are still in demand today by fine art collectors.

Over his career, which spans almost 40 years, Schwartz has collaborated with fashion houses such as Charles Jourdan Hermes, Chanel, Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Prada, Valentino, and Balenciaga just to name a few. He has also created footwear per personal request for many celebrities including Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Madonna, Oprah, Sharon Stone, Julia Roberts, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, JLo, and Hillary Clinton.

 

And now he is DEIJIDESIGN’s Creative Director and significant partner. His distinct professionalism and mastermind are yet again encapsulated through every handbag, wallet, shoe, and belt.
